Ciudad de M (2001) from Johnny Web (Uncle Scoopy; Greg Wroblewski) |
Ciudad de M is a primitive effort from the fledgling Peruvian film industry. It concerns a young, unemployed guy in Lima who is debating whether to join his friend in a life of crime, smuggling in and out of Miami. Essentially, it's a slice-of-life film, which may be interesting to you if you want to learn something about a certain segment of society in Latin America, how they live, and the sorts of issues they face when thinking about the future. I enjoyed it in a way because from the opening scene it is clearly earmarked as Peruvian, and I worked for a while in Lima. |
