Deadly Charades

Deadly Charades (1996) is an example of couples erotica in the form of a crime caper.

Shea Farrell plays a B movie producer who's having trouble getting funding for his latest project. His wife, Leslie Kay, owns an art gallery. Shea would be lost without his assistant, Julie Hughes, and her boyfriend works for Leslie Kay (General Hospital, As the World Turns, The Bold and the Beautiful, and many more soaps).

Husband and wife have been using role-playing to spice up their sex, but Leslie informs hubby that she is tiring of the games, and would like to have sex as themselves for a change. Then he starts getting gifts from Madame X, whom he assumes is his wife. We slowly realize that he is being set up big-time.

The only interesting aspect of the film is nudity from a major soap star, Leslie Kay. The story is elaborate, but is not told well, and never builds any suspense. The sex scenes are not especially hot, and the nudity is not very explicit.

Our Grade:

If you are not familiar with our grading system, you need to read the explanation, because the grading is not linear. For example, by our definition, a C is solid and a C+ is a VERY good movie. There are very few Bs and As. Based on our descriptive system, this film is a:

It rates that high only on the strength of rare nudity from Leslie Kay. Without her, it would be a  D, an inadequate genre offering. Therefore, it is only recommended if you are interested in her.

  • Leslie Kay shows breasts and buns.
  • Julie Hughes shows breasts and buns.
  • An unknown stripper shows everything, as does Kimberly Rowe.
