Dr Alien (1977) from Tuna

Dr. Alien (1988) is a classic 70's teensploitation Scf Fi tittie flick. Aliens come to Earth and masquerade as College biology professors, to experiment on a human subject. Seems they are forbidden to use alien subjects on their planet, so they picked a species that was similar. Their race is dying because all of the men have become impotent, and are trying to perfect a serum that will restore their vigor. Seems they have a rather penis-like sexual organ which sprouts out the top of their head which makes them irresistible to women.

They choose Billy Jayne for their subject, as he is more or less a nerd and  a social failure. The serum works as hoped, and Jayne becomes impossible for women to resist. We have breasts from a who's who of Queen B's and Scream Queens, including  Julie Gray, Ginger Lynn Allen, Linnea Quigley, Laura Albert, Michelle Bauer  and Karen Russel. Judy Landers as the alien professor is seen in two hot  lingerie outfits. It is as good as any of the tittie flicks, and has some very amusing moments.

Scoop's comments:

I like Dr Alien. It was intended to be an exploitation film, and it does manage to present lots of topless women in an amusing context. I agree with Tuna's C+ rating if you allow a genre of "titty film". It delivers on the flesh. It delivers on the laughs. It's just what it is supposed to be.

The People Vote ...

  • With their votes ... IMDB summary: IMDb voters score it 3.2
IMDb guideline: 7.5 usually indicates a level of excellence, about like three and a half stars from the critics. 6.0 usually indicates lukewarm watchability, about like two and a half stars from the critics. The fives are generally not worthwhile unless they are really your kind of material, about like two stars from the critics. Films under five are generally awful even if you like that kind of film, equivalent to about one and a half stars from the critics or less, depending on just how far below five the rating is.

My own guideline: A means the movie is so good it will appeal to you even if you hate the genre. B means the movie is not good enough to win you over if you hate the genre, but is good enough to do so if you have an open mind about this type of film. C means it will only appeal to genre addicts, and has no crossover appeal. D means you'll hate it even if you like the genre. E means that you'll hate it even if you love the genre. F means that the film is not only unappealing across-the-board, but technically inept as well.

Based on this description, this film is a C+:  good genre flick with decent production value and a very high breast count.
